Yoga teacher: Meet Hatha yoga teacher, Caroline Knight

Hatha Yoga Teacher Caroline

What type of yoga do you offer?

Hatha yoga. I also incorporate pranayama, guided meditation and yoga nidra into the classes.

What makes your yoga different?

While vinyasa and Astanga may be the practice of choice for many people, I believe in taking the yoga down a few notches in pace and really coming into the postures to get maximum benefit for the body, awareness and breath.

While my practice may not have the speed or sweat factor of a vinyasa, it will make you work hard and have you serene by the end of class.

Who is your yoga suited to?

I listen to any demands and needs of my students and adjust my sequence accordingly. I make sure that I offer many variations on the more advanced poses so all abilities and levels of health can participate.

I am extremely keen to encourage more men to discover the amazing power of yoga… for their bodies- inner and outer!

Class: “Vinyasa Flow – West Hampstead”

Class description

Classes are appropriate for students of all levels, including beginners. Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic form of Hatha yoga. Poses flow from one to the next, in tune with the breath. For each class, I choreograph bespoke sequences, based on different themes. I offer modifications to make poses accessible for beginners as well as variations to challenge more experienced students to their heart’s content!

Our philosophy

Yoga enables us to be in touch with our bodies in new ways. I experiment with poses, inviting students to stretch, bend, and explore different perspectives on the world. You will develop endurance and flexibility, discovering parts of your body you didn’t even know existed! Yoga is a moving meditation, focusing on the breath as an anchor for the mind, to keep us present and in the moment.

Come to my classes expecting to be challenged physically and mentally. Expect to leave feeling like a new person! Please see my website for further info:

Events: Yoga in the Park – “Kensington Palace Gardens”

yoga in the park

If you go down to the park this weekend, you’ll be sure of a big surprise! For every yogi will be practicing outside in the park with yoga teacher Liz. It’s not often we Londoners get to experience the joy of practicing yoga outside but it is a wonderful thing to do. And this way, you won’t feel silly doing it all by yourself. Curious passer-bys may stare but you can share the attention with the group!

Starting Saturday, May 14th, I will be teaching yoga every week on the lawn of Kensington Palace Gardens. There is nothing like practicing outside to reconnect with the earth and oneself, and practicing in a group to benefit the lives of others both extends the connection from the earth to all beings, and from the mat into daily life.
